Sean's 1983 Volvo 245 GLT

aka @245turbo on instagram

If you have good taste in cars and you’re on Instagram you should be following Sean @245turbo. He owns this very special Volvo wagon.

n 1983, this cute little brick was born to the happy and loving Estate family. His parents were: Edna (1967 145) and Giovanni (1964 Amazon 122 S). Baby Estate was like lightning in a bottle with his 1.9 litre Turbocharged heart. He was quick and he was quite a handful for his parents to keep under-control. Baby Estate was also special because he had a lot of spice and a strong taste for spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, and everything else pasta related. Baby Estate was mostly Italian, (although we’re not sure where it came from because both of his parents are Swedish, we are still waiting on results from the DNA test). Baby Estate, later known as “240” had a good up bringing until he was told to go into hiding. For years he spent his life hibernating underground until he woke up in late 2020, ready to embark upon a new journey.

240 navigated the rough seas and endured days upon days of sea sickness, until one day in early October he drove off the boat onto this new land, North America. It was soon that he would be united with his driver “Sean.” Over the past year, the two have enjoyed many happy trips around New York. One of the destinations being Trumansburg, NY. This is where I met them.

I met with Sean on June 26th at the Euro Meet 2021. It was an incredible sight seeing this beautiful wagon in person. This wagon was so well kept and preserved, its practically a rolling time capsule. I got to talk with Sean and other cool Volvo enthusiasts such as Don of Molitor’s Customs and Matt from blackvlvparts. It was a blast meeting some of the guys that share the same passion for such cool bricks.

Late,  we went for a cruise where we got lost on the literal first turn. But, we didn’t care because the scenic route was fun. After the cruise we got ice-cream and then I quickly got to work. I got to shoot hundreds of photos at the fair grounds with Sean and his 240, it was an absolute blast! Check the photos out down below!
